The Anchor Inn

Motel in Traverse City, Michigan

Fresh air. Cozy cottages. Private Beach.

This quaint row of cottages and rooms, hidden beneath ancient cedars, is your no-frills, rustic, camp-like experience established in the 1940s.

If you require reliable Wi-Fi, 24-hour front desk, or spa bathroom there are many nice chain hotels and beautiful luxury homes in the area.

We are for folks who dig a more nostalgic feel and can appreciate the quirks as well as the character of old spaces. The doors are tricky, the 80-year-old windows are far from energy efficient, and the cedar trees provide a constant cool dampness.

The size of our tight bathrooms hasn't changed since the 40s, and the tiny queen rooms don’t have enough space for a dresser or chair. We decorate the rooms with vintage & antique finds and enjoy creating what we hope is a cozy atmosphere for your ‘up north’ escape.
