A Nice Place to Stay in Northern Michigan

Nestled in rural Northern Michigan, Motel Bear Lake is a woman-owned, woman-powered, retro-modern motel redefining the roadside lodging experience and revitalizing its local community.

We’re building the Motel Bear Lake for people like us and people we like. Pet owners, weed smokers, and LGBTQ+ people want to vacation in a place that is welcoming to their lifestyle. We’re not excluding anyone. We’re just saying to a specific, underserved group - come as you are.

The motel is more than a nice place to stay. It's a unique experience, a place to make memories and build connections. We’ve already hosted some amazing events like a cannabis-infused dinner and free family (and pet) portrait sessions. We are building out plans for health retreats, women’s weekends, DJ’d pool parties and more. There’s so much to look forward to.
